Website Case Studies and Pricing

ImageWeavers offer a wide range of services from small websites to enterprise solutions. Below are a selection of case studies demostrating this range along with the costs of each project

Example 1 - A Bed and Breakfast

A B&B business needs a website to display its two letting rooms and give potential guests a feel for the wider environment in which they would be staying.

This job would include a site visit and photography of the letting rooms plus 'look and feel' photography of all communal spaces.

Site Development Costs: To produce this site and register it with core B&B directory sites, plus obtain a suitable domain name for website and e-mail would cost £375

Recurring annual registration and hosting fees: £60 for a single .co.uk domain

Solway House B&B

Marj from Solway House Bed and Breakfast got in touch in March 2011 with a requirement to launch in April. This deadline was met and Marj has had a successful and enjoyable summers B&B in Inveraray.

Example 2 - A Small Hotel

A small hotel needs a website to display its letting rooms, public bar, restaurant and gardens. This job would typically involve several site visits to photograph rooms while they are available to photograph, plus general photography to capture the spirit of the business.

The website would detail each letting room or each type of letting room giving photos and prices.

Site Development Costs: To complete the photography and produce this site would cost £750

Recurring annual registration and hosting fees: £60 for a single domain

A site of this sort is very likely to benefit from the addition of virtual tours

The Shore House Inn in Lochgoilhead is a typical example of this kind of website

Example 3 - A Small Hotel with Content Management System

A site as above with the addition of content management tools to allow the staff / management of the hotel to update some areas of the site themselves with current news, events, photos and special offers.

Site Development Costs: To produce this site would cost in the region of £1200

Recurring annual registration and hosting fees: £140 for a single domain.

Example 4 - A custom written Content Management System for Community Group

Simplicity of updating is the name of the game with a site like this. It is essential that volunteers with even the most basic IT skills can make a contribution to the website, but within a safe environment where they have no fear of messing it up. The text and images added by the team create a dynamically updated site which carries through the core design.

Site Development Costs: The price would be in the region of £1000-1800, although discounts are often available for charitable or community groups.

Recurring annual registration and hosting fees: £140 for a single domain.

The website of FiddleFolk and Lochgoilhead Fiddle Workshop is typical of this kind of development. The site allows the organisation's committee to log in and update news, events, photos, reviews, tutor information and more via a simple easy to use interface.

Example 5 - A larger scale custom written Content Management System.

As with the smaller community group websites, these sites are designed to allow a team of people to add content to a website within a simple easy to use environment where very few IT skills are required. The site can create business documentation and cross link use usage data to provide and essential business tool

Site Development Costs: Depending on the scope of the 'hidden' back end tools, and complexity of the functionality, a site of this sort might cost £5,000- £20,000. A fixed quote can be provided once the scope of the project is defined.

Recurring annual registration and hosting fees: Annual hosting of a busy larger site starts at £550 per annum, and increases with site traffic

Western Horizon Yachts Boat Sales has extensive behind the scenes tools which allow the simple update and addition of boat details, photos and virtual tours by agents operating their own area, but also automatically exports boats to a range of external advertising sites, manages a team of bloggers, maintains a boat archive, records and crosslinks all boat enquiries, produces and stores boat sales documentation and track sthe sales process, and much more.

Maintenance & Maintenance Contracts

Maintenance is charged at £25 per hour, minumum fee £12.50. Contracts are available if required. These can be paid monthly or annually in advance.

Maintenance of websites developed by another company

If you find yourself without a web designer for whatever reason it is very likely that we can help.

At the simplest end of the spectrum you will have all your web account access information and we can get started straight away. Work on an unfamiliar site will inevitably be more time consuming initially, so allow for an extra couple of hours for familiarisation with all but the simplest of sites.

The worst case is that your web developer has disappeared along with all access to your website. This may seem quite a bleak situation, but there are mechanisms for recovering domains lost in this way. We have reunited a number of relieved site owners with their websites.

Website Testimonials

FiddleFolk/Lochgoilhead Fiddle Workshop

Mark MorpurgoAs a comparive novice I found Claire France's explanations easy to follow. She was careful to make us think about what we wanted from the site, and designed something that anyone with typing abilities could update!
Without the site our organisation, being both rural and strapped for PR/Marketing budget, could never have had the success it has had in terms of 'footfall' or the national awards we have received. I would recommend this outfit unreservedly

Gillian and Mark CurtisClaire took on the re- design of our web site and presented a truly professional site that has greatly enhanced our business. Coupled with our on line booking system we are delighted that, now the site is well established with high search engine rankings, most of our bookings are generated from our site. We found her to be professional, friendly and eager to develop a brief with intelligent and creative input that resulted in our much admired web site. Claire is also a very competent photographer and we are not only pleased with her original photographs of the Shore House Inn but her virtual tours of the rooms which bring the site to life and is regularly commented on by our customers. We would recommend Claire to anybody wanting a first class service that will enhance and promote any business wanting a modern and commercial web presence.

Linda MorpurgoI have known Claire for years now on a personal and business level, and she is a thorough professional. Above all she listens carefully to what the client has to say about the use to be made of the website. She also understands how to explain the options to people who are not IT professionals, and never patronises the client. We remain delighted by the FiddleFolk website. It's clean and stylish, and easy for us to input news and photographs. It's also easy for visitors, something very often more of an aspiration than a reality with many web sites! We can see this website meeting our needs for some time, and we are grateful for the ongoing link with Claire, who has been asked for advice once or twice in five years, and fixes tiny glitches immediately. I can't imagine anyone else doing a better job. We are in no doubt that the website has been the main influence in disseminating awareness of our arts programmes worldwide, and by so doing gaining all the accolades and formal awards we have received.

Claire took on the design of my web site at short notice and completed it rapidly in readiness for my launch date.

I found her to be professional, friendly and willing to work through our suggestions, as well as making her own which really enhanced the site.

She gave feed-back at every stage and kept me totally involved in the process, removing all stress at my end!

The site is easy to manage and I am able to upload new information and make all the changes myself without having much technical know how. I am delighted with the finished result and would willingly recommend her to anybody.

Claire set up my Photography web site after discussing exactly what I would like to represent my work, and more importantly how I work. Since the site was established I have had a constant flow of compliments on its layout and ease of navigation. Indeed, a number of clients have decided to use my services as a result of being impressed by the site.

Claire has also been vigilant in maintaining regular contact both for advice and suggestions on additional content.

Without any doubt, my business has expanded immensely because of internet exposure - to the extent that I do not find it necessary to use any other form of advertising.
